My first time being shot for an editorial

March 2nd I met Montana Pritchard and had my first editorial style shoot.

I worked alongside four models, two were signed with agencies. It was an incredible experience, I'd never had a professional photoshoot before and I can't believe how blessed I was to be picked to do this. I'm not with anyone, but this is only my third month trying to be a model...before then I was on the other side of the camera shooting everything I saw. PhotobucketPhotobucket

At the shoot we also had a make-up artists, a hair stylist, and a wardrobe stylist. I felt like royalty getting pampered after every shoot...I'd never had this done before and I couldn't get over the fact that I was being shown so much attention...The crew thought I was cute being all new and all in awe. The other models were a bit more nonchalant with the make-up crew but after hearing me chirping away and talking a storm with everyone, they relaxed and we started talking about anything that came to our minds. I found out that Alex is my age, and she's signed with a Miami agency I can't remember the name thought. Kashka is around 24 and she's with Whileminia agency, she's also been to fashion week but I couldn't get any information out of here...she seemed a bit distant but I figured it's just because she's from a different country and is probably not used to spunky kids like me trying to make conversations. I'm cultured enough to know that in some countries small talk isn't a great way to start a conversation...and i think that's what happened...I have a lot of respect for her she's only been in this country for one month but her english is good. Bambi is 20 and is a pretty amazing. The thing that stuns me thought is that she doesn't have the ambition to go out and get signed she likes doing her own thing and even has a manager. She was naked for all of the shoots, I couldn't believe how easy going she was with it all, it was neat to see someone so comfortable in their own skin. I felt so honored to have worked with these girls, I can't believe the pictures will have me sitting with these models...This is really going to be a nice adittion to my portfolio for sure. I'm planning on visiting agencies soon after I move, I'm seriously commited to being a model and man this shoot fueled the passion even more.

Montana was shooting this editorial shoots for his portfolio. After taking one year off to travel the world he now wants to get back in the groove of things and needs to start off by getting credit again. This photoshoot was sexy and had a lot of soft sexual undertones, hence Bambi being the nude model with the food on her body. The rest of us had either a bra on and no pants, or no bra and pants, or something of the sort. The make-up was eccentric, and the hair was edgy...It was a blast getting into model mode and giving Montana what he wanted. He loved my modeling and couldn't believe this was my first time...It's a good thing I practice and watch millions of model TV shows, they really do help. We shot for about 9 hours...from 3:30pm to midnight. I was exhausted by the end of the day, I hadn't slept on the Greyhound bus coming here and I was craving a nice hot shower. If you think modeling is a piece of cake try standing in shoes that are two sizes too small, and holding positions for about an hour...It starts taking it's toll after a while...but Heck I'd do it all over again, work is only work when you don't enjoy it. When you do something you love its not work anymore...it's fun <3

At one point, MetroMix's photographer started taking pictures of me. I call this great timing because at the same time Montana kept calling out "YES, perfect and excellent!" because he had positioned me at the center of the Tribal photoshoot and I was giving him exactly what he wanted, a fierce stare...so here I was in the center of the limelight and the photographer just walks in and assumes I'm the star of the moment, and that's what it felt like lol. I can't wait to see the pictures!
I can't begin to tell you guys how great it was to put all that energy and creative energy in modeling. I love being a blank canvas for artists, it feels amazing being part of something that's bigger than you...I mean March 15th is the opening of the echibition and I'm going to see myself up on the wall in a huge print for the whole world to see. Simply amazing.
The other models were a joy to work with, at the end of the day we all exchange numbers and myspace links. Montana and his girlfriend, Jessica were so sweet to wait with me till 2am for the bus...I missed my afternoon terminal trip because I didn't want to leave in the middle of the shoot. Jessica is adorable, she's so down to Earth it was really great talking to her...Man I wish my parents could be there on the 15th to see my hardwork but atleast my boyfriend will accompany me. He used to be a signed model with IMG agency, he's been so sweet and really supportive of everything.
What a great day!!! By the way if you think models don't eat then you didn't see us eating haha. We had healthy food, Starbucks and Italian catered to us at different times of the day. I didn't know models ate either, but then again this wasn't a Vogue editorial shoot either...Maybe one day you'll see me in one ^_~

I can dream can't I?
